The Hyundai Palisade is a mid-size crossover SUV manufactured by Hyundai Motor Company since late 2018. It debuted at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show on November 28, 2018. It will replace the Maxcruz (also known as Santa Fe XL outside of South Korea) as Hyundai’s flagship SUV. Like its predecessor, the Palisade features three rows of seating, with seating for up to eight passengers when equipped with a second-row bench seat.
Based on the Grandmaster concept, Hyundai made many of the latest safety features standard equipment on the Palisade, including Safe Exit Assist (prevents children and pets from accidentally being locked inside of the vehicle by using audio and visual alerts), class-exclusive Ultrasonic Rear Occupant Alert (senses whether a child or pet is seated in either one of the rear seats, and can also send an alert using the Bluelink in-vehicle telematics system to send an alert to the driver’s smartphone to alert the driver to check the rear seats), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Collision-Avoidance Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go (also known as Adaptive Cruise Control), and Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.

Powering all Palisade models is a 3.8L Atkinson Cycle Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) V6 engine with Idle Stop & Go (ISG). The Palisade will be available in base SE, midlevel SEL, upscale SEL Plus, luxury Limited, and top-of-the-line Ultimate trim levels. Every Palisade trim level will offer standard features such as one-touch second-row seat access, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and second-row USB charging ports. Additional features available on select Palisade trim levels include roof side rails, proximity key with push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and transmission shift knob, heated front seats, a third-row USB charging port, a power sunroof, a “Hands-Free” Smart Liftgate with proximity sensor and auto open, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Sirius XM Satellite Radio and HD Radio, the Bluelink in-vehicle telematics system, twenty-inch (20″) aluminum-alloy wheels, leather-trimmed seating surfaces, manual rear window sunshades, multiple device connection, active noise cancellation, a dual moonroof with shade, auto-dimming and auto-folding side and auto-dimming rearview mirrors, a full-display rearview mirror, Nappa leather-trimmed seating surfaces, and a full-color Heads-Up Display.
The Palisade costs $32,595 for the SE trim and up to $47,445 for the Limited trim. In South Korea it was launched on December 11th, 2018.[citation needed] It competes with the Kia Telluride against midsized 3 row crossovers like the Honda Pilot, the Ford Explorer, the Toyota Highlander, and the Chevrolet Traverse.
The South Korean pop-group BTS was chosen as the brand ambassador for the new model of Hyundai, and have since been involved in numerous commercials and ad campaigns in South Korea and America.
