Kia’s First Pickup Truck | Kia Tasman 2025

Kia today announced all the details of its new Kia Tasman truck, the first pickup truck in the history of the brand. The Tasman is the latest addition to Kia’s diverse lineup of sedans and has been designed to compete with prominent cars in this category such as the Toyota Hilux and others. It was officially unveiled during the Jeddah International Motor Show in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Engine and performance options for the new Kia Tasman truck

The new Kia Tasman comes with two powertrain options to meet the different needs of users:

First: 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine

• Power: 277 hp.
• Torque: 421 Nm.
• 8-speed automatic transmission.
• Four-wheel drive system.

Second: 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine

• Power: 207 hp.
• Torque: 441 Nm.
• 6-speed manual transmission.
• Rear-wheel drive system.

The exterior design of the new Kia Tasman truck

The Kia Tasman is distinguished by a strong and unique exterior design that reflects the sporty and durable character of the truck, and its most prominent features include:

• A bold front end: a huge black grille with a dynamically designed hood.
• Aggressive front bumper: contains glossy black accents to highlight the strong appearance.
• Wide fenders: equipped with plastic accents for additional protection and a sporty look.
• Side mirrors and plastic sills: both in glossy black to match the modern character.
• Sporty wheels: available in 17 and 18 inches.
• Ample rear storage space: a streamlined design for the rear window with a prominent Kia logo on the storage door.

The Tasman is available in a variety of distinctive colors and comes in single or double cabin versions, adding diversity to suit the needs of different customers.

Vehicle display and testing

Kia conducted more than 1,777 tests on its new Tasman truck in 18,000 tests to confirm its performance on various terrains and harsh conditions, and after passing the highest standards, it is being unveiled globally for the first time at the Jeddah Motor Show. The Tasman will be available in multiple models including Baseline, X-Line and X-Pro, and is scheduled to launch in the first half of 2025 in Korea, followed by Australia, Africa and the Middle East, with the Saudi market expected to be one of its main markets.
